# Tourist Mate Privacy Policy

Tourist Mate helps users plan and manage trips. This policy explains what we collect, why, and your choices.

## Data we collect
- Account data: email and auth identifiers managed by Supabase Auth.
- Profile data: name, nationality, travel style, interests, bio, profile photo, cover photo, home currency.
- Trip data: events, wishlist items, journal entries, stories, deep dives, infographs, budget entries, tickets/visa files, uploaded photos.
- Chat data: prompts, responses, and optional user-uploaded images.
- Diagnostic data: server request logs and error logs used for reliability.

## How we use data
- Provide trip planning, journaling, budgeting, and travel assistant features.
- Generate AI outputs (chat, stories, deep-dive, infograph, journal assistance).
- Store user content for retrieval across sessions.
- Improve reliability, performance, and fraud/rate-limit controls.

## AI processing
- User prompts and optional images may be sent to third-party AI providers to generate responses.
- Do not upload highly sensitive personal data in AI prompts/images.

## Storage and sharing
- Primary storage: Supabase (database, auth, and object storage).
- Data is not sold.
- Data is shared only with infrastructure/AI providers necessary to operate features.

## Retention
- Data is kept until user deletes content or deletes account.
- Some short-lived operational logs may remain for security and debugging.

## Your controls
- Edit profile and trip data in-app.
- Delete account in-app from Profile -> Delete Account.

## Children
- Tourist Mate is not intended for children under 13.
